The Complete E-commerce Website Features Checklist for 2026
We analyzed 570 e-commerce websites across 19 countries to determine which features are truly essential. Not based on blog posts or best-practice guides — based on what real, successful e-commerce sites actually have.
The Classification System
Every feature was classified by how often it appears across the 570 sites: CRITICAL means 80%+ of sites have it — your customers expect it. REQUIRED means 50-79% have it. RECOMMENDED means 25-49%. OPTIONAL is below 25%.
